Join us for a free, outdoor jazz concert featuring the Caswell Sisters!
Vocalist Rachel and violinist Sara Caswell released their debut album Alive in the Singing Air (Turtle Ridge Records) featuring Fred Hersch in 2013 and was selected by jazz critic Thomas Cunniffe as one of the year’s “Best Vocal CDs” on JazzHistory Online.
The talented sibling duo attended Indiana University-Bloomington, and are now esteemed faculty members at the Berklee College of Music, Manhattan School of Music, The New School, New York University, and IU’s Jacobs School of Music. Their careers have witnessed several accolades, including a Grammy nomination for Sara. The Caswell Sisters have recorded with distinguished artists as the WDR Big Band, Esperanza Spalding, and Chris Potter.
The event will take place Friday, July 19 at 7pm at the Bartholomew County Public Library in Columbus. In the event of rain, the concert will be moved indoors to the Columbus Commons.
The evening will be emceed by WFIU host David Brent Johnson. We encourage guests to bring lawn chairs, blankets, or even a picnic! Food trucks will also be available during the event.
